    @Mike thank you very much. It was a great birding day

    @Phil that’s an interesting theory. Actually, I was in a photo blind at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge when I was fortunate enough to have this beautiful eagle land on the snag right in front of me. He/she spent some time preening and posing for me before I caught the in-flight shot! It was an exciting day for me!

    @Wren it is really nice to be able to watch a bird like this from a photo blind when you can see all the intricate details of their actions. I was able to watch this bird preen for a long time and survey the area before taking off. It was magnificent
