    Larry, that’s a pretty perfect shot – great one! I have to admit before I got a photo of a rough-winged, I thought they were a little boring but after looking more closely, I absolutely love these birds! Great stuff!

    Gorgeous close-up Larry! Probably the best I’ve ever seen of a NRW Swallow.

    Great photo! I’ve only seen them at a distance but they are very cool birds.

    Nice photo. What did you use to take it? Thanks for commenting on my post. My friend really doesn’t get the point of some of my photos, but then not everyone does.

    @Jill thanks. They do look more impressive when you see them close up but like all swallows, I think they are most impressive in flight

    @Robert thank you very much! Wow! (grinning)

    @Wren, very cool

    @Stephanie I was lucky enough to sneak up on this Northern Rough-winged Swallow on a bridge on a VERY minimally traveled road in Shasta County. I had seen them there previously and I was able to get this full frame shot with my Nikkon D90 and 80 – 400mm Nikkor zoom lens after creeping closer and closer to the bird.

    With my new digiscoping set-up, I could have gotten this shot from much farther away
