I spotted a red shoudered hawk sittin a cottonwood tree by our house on Jan. 28 2010. He was there for 2 days. I got some great pictures, as did many other people. We are located in Big River, CA . We are on the Colorado river, across the river from Parker, AZ. Beautiful large bird. it took him 2 days to finally get nervous and leave. Thanks for this website because we were unable to identify him from any of our books. Chuck McCarty
