		<description>Perfect timing with your new post that includes California Quail as we just had our first quail sighting in our backyard yesterday (located within a typical &#039;cookie cutter&#039; neighborhood).  The male was standing watch on our fence as the family traversed a network of shrubs below.  And this morning my wife and I awoke to the call of a nearby quail.

Quail sightings have been on the rise recently so I hope the trend continues.  I did speak with a ranger a few years back at a local park/open space and they were actively working to entice the quail back to the area so perhaps it has been a success.
